Joseph Bakare  The meeting between the federal government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) ended on Monday night without an agreement. The meeting which started at about 5 p.m. at the Federal Ministry of Education was to find a lasting solution to the ongoing strike by the university lecturers. The union embarked on the strike three weeks ago over the poor funding of Nigerian universities and non-implementation of previous agreements by the government. Agency Report Troops fighting on the frontlines of the Boko Haram conflict in northeastern Nigeria have released a video claiming at least 100 soldiers died in a recent attack and deploring the poor state of their equipment.  In the five-minute video seen by AFP on Saturday, a soldier narrating in the background shows the burnt shells of several tanks and vehicles at the Metele base, which was attacked by the IS-affiliated Islamic State West Africa Province on November 18.
