The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Anambra State Command in line with the directive of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Audi has commenced three -weeks rigorous and intensive training towards developing capacity and effective Service delivery for the newly established Female Squad of the Command. This was contained in a press statement by the Spokesperson of the Command DSC Okadigbo Edwin.
Addressing participants, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Vincent Ogu JP, through the Head of Training Department DCC Osiliem Alex charged the participating officers to take the training seriously adding that the training will help them to perform their roles better.
He said the aim of establishing the squad is to prevent the unprovoked and mindless attacks in schools. Commandant Ogu reminded them that the Female Squad is structured as a proactive measure towards guaranteeing safety and restoring the confidence of students, parents, teachers and the communities where the schools are situated.
He further said that the CG is very much interested in the squad to complement the efforts of their male counterparts, appealing to them to pay more attention so as to achieve the much desired results after the training.
Among the courses outlined for the training programme are; Parade, Combat Drill, Intelligence gathering, Weapon Handling Techniques, Report writing, Conflict Analysis and Resolutions, Public Relationship and Fundamental Human Right.
At the end of the training, the Squad is expected to collaborate with sister Security Agencies in combating Security challenges facing the nation.
