The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins in Lagos State, has said that the State Government is moving fast to ascertain the major cause of the building that collapsed on Wednesday.
The 7-floor building under construction collapsed in Banana Island, Lagos State, in the evening of that day.
Few who sustained injuries are being treated but there was no fatality. The unfortunate incident happened while casting was being done.
The Commissioner was immediately on site to assess the situation and flag- off investigation and asked members of the public to remain calm and expect further information from the Ministry.
Deputy Director, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mukaila Sanusi, said the collapsed building was “unapproved”.
The Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South West, Ibrahim Farinloye, said emergency responders were at the scene.
