The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service marked a groundbreaking milestone with the successful processing of its first declaration through B’ODOGWU—an innovative indigenous platform developed by the Officers and Men of the Customs, supported by concessionaires under the Trade Modernisation Project.
The historic event unfolded during an insightful sensitization exercise led by ICT Modernisation Officers, aimed at equipping both Officers and key Stakeholders with essential knowledge on the new platform.
Comptroller CC Nwokorie, the Customs Area Controller, expressed deep gratitude to Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for entrusting him with the command and pioneering this transformative initiative that promises to revolutionize revenue generation and streamline trade facilitation in the region.
Comptroller Nwokorie did not hesitate to underscore the pivotal role of B’ODOGWU in the future of Customs operations.
He called on Officers and Stakeholders alike to embrace the platform, highlighting its significance as a critical revenue generation tool that demands comprehensive understanding and seamless adoption.
The training session also saw active participation from Licensed Agents and Traders, who received hands-on guidance on registration and optimized use of B’ODOGWU. Alhaji Muhammad Nahali Kamba, Chairman of the Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents, Kebbi State Chapter, praised the Comptroller-General Adrian’s visionary initiative and affirmed the association’s full commitment to adhering to the platform’s regulatory framework.
This landmark development not only cements Kebbi Command’s position at the forefront of Customs modernization but also signals a new era of efficiency, transparency, and innovation in Nigeria’s trade landscape.
