Arik Air on Tuesday donated bags of rice and beans to communities in Mafoluku and Agege , Orile axis of Lagos metropolis.
According to Arik Air , Business Head, West and Central Africa, Mr Sylvester Egogo the gesture was meant to reach out to impacted communities.
Egogo said it would be out of place to allow communities around where it operates experience hardship during the pandemic without considering measures that could mitigate their pains.
The Arik Air official said the food items donated as its corporate social responsibility will assist the benefiting communities as its response in times like this, which calls for concern in meeting the needs of the people.
Speaking on behalf of Abolaji Osundeyi Community Development Association and others in the Mafoluku axis, its chairman, Otunba Nathaniel Osho commended the airline for the gesture, which he said came at the most appropriate time.
He said the carrier had demonstrated that it cared for residents and communities in its operating environment, urging other companies to emulate the good gesture.
Speaking on behalf of the Ifelodun Community Development Association( CDA), in the Agege , Orile axis, its Scretary, Pastor Kehinde Abe said Arik Air was the first organization to reach to people in the neighbourhood with palliative packages since the pandemic broke out.
