The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported 114 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 32 deaths; bringing the total number of infections to 1095.

The agency announced the latest figures via its verified Twitter account on Friday night.

According to the NCDC, as at 11:30pm, there are 1095 confirmed cases of Coronavirus infections recorded in Nigeria.

It disclosed that the number of deaths recorded so far pitched an additional one compared to yesterday’s record, bringing it to 32; while a total of 208 patients had made a full recovery from the virus and have been discharged.

Of the 114 new cases reported on Friday, Lagos state accounted for 80, followed by Gombe which recorded 21. Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded five cases while Zamfara and Edo state had two confirmed cases each. Also, Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna and Sokoto states recorded one each.

In addition, the breakdown of the cases per state still reveals that Lagos state remains the major hub of the virus in Nigeria.

Kwara and Akwa Ibom had a tie with 11 cases each; Kaduna – 10, Bauchi – eight, Delta – six, Ekiti – four; while Ondo and Rivers have accounted for three cases each.

Jigawa, Enugu, Niger, Abia, Zamfara and Sokoto are tied on two cases each; likewise Benue, Anambra, Adamawa and Plateau, all of whom have recorded one case each.
