The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has lauded the historic flights of Airpeace Nigeria on Sunday March 29th 2020, when it evacuated 200 Israelis from Nigeria to Tel Aviv, Which Israeli Government Officials appluaded and appreciated another historic non stop flights from Turkey was on Saturday April 4th 2020, when it delivered Medical Supplies from Turkey, on behalf of the Federal Government to help in the fight to prevent spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The Council in a statement made available to Oriental News Nigeria, recalled that on Tuesday 7th April 2020 Airpeace Boeing 777-200ER Aircraft made a non 15 hours historic flight from Beijing international Airport, China to Nigeria, which it said was a patriotic demonstration that the Management of Airpeace had exhibited high level of efficiency and world-class professionalism with all Nigerian Crew on board, the indigenous Company had the potentials, New fleets, Manpower and capacity to be the New Nigeria’s National Carrier in the absence fruitless efforts to revive the Moriboud Nigerian Airways .
In the statement it said, “OYC appluaded the Decision and Confidence bestowed on the Management of Airpeace Nigeria by Federal Government on Such historic flights, which had opened up a new vista in the aviation sector.
OYC Urge President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Ministry of Aviation and other related agencies to legalize the the procedures that will lead to the pronouncement of Airpeace Nigeria as the new Nigeria’s National Carrier and to invest through equity shares in Airpeace Nigeria, igbo Youths insists that there’s new fleets, manpower, and commitment in service delivery to assure the Federal Government that this the only Functional solution to revive the Nigeria’s National Carrier, is to invest in Airpeace Nigeria through Partnership as Equity Investor, President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will leave a legacy of reviving the Moribund Nigerian Airways through National Carrier Rebirth in Joint Partnership with Airpeace Nigeria .”
The OYC therefore urged the Federal Government to use Airpeace Nigeria to evacuate all Nigerians stranded in Abroad, with the recent pronouncement of Federal Government to evacuate Nigerians abroad through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nigeria in Diaspora Commission.
It appealed to the Presidency to review the Conditions attached in the intended evacuation of Nigerians abroad, and demanded the removal of all the flimsy clauses and Conditions of payments of fees and other charges, including flights tickets which should be subsidised to ensure that those Nigerians stranded can return, with the current lockdown Worldwide.
