COVID-19: Sokoto State Police Command Arrests 10, Impound 9 Vehicles

Sokoto State Police Spokesman ASP Muhammad A. Sadiq has announced the arrest of ten persons for violating government’s restriction order.

According to him, “Following the build up to the enforcement of closure of territorial boundaries of the state, the joint task force patrol team, while on patrol, intercepted along Sokoto – Zamfara road, major road linking the state and the southern part of the country a total of nine vehicles and ten suspects were arrested.

In a statement he said the following persons were nabbed.

*Suspect: Bello Buda

All impounded vehicles were fully loaded with non-essential commodities, he said.

Against this backdrop, the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Sani Kaoje, had since directed immediate prosecution of the violators, and equally called on the general public to remain law abiding at all times, citing that all measures emplaced are for the greater safety of lives.
