The Minister of Communications, Isa Pantami, on Friday, September 4, said that
Nigerians would showcase their skills; via the creation of the logo and a poem for Nigerians to celebrate the country’s 60th anniversary.
The Minister therefore urged Nigerians to avoid division while embracing peace ahead of the country’s Diamond Jubilee on October 1.
This stance by Pantami was contained in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in Abuja.
According to the Minister, the upcoming celebrations will showcase the diversity and resilience of Nigerians across the country and world.
“On October 1, Nigeria will be celebrating its diamond jubilee as it turns 60. It is a day that reminds every citizen about the dawn of the country we call our nation. Nigerians have gone far and wide, impacting their communities and the world, at large.”
In order to ensure a joyous celebration, Pantami revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has “approved an inclusive National Independence Celebration programme in line with COVID-19 protocols.”
The theme of the upcoming celebrations is entitled, “Together at 60.”
