Cross Rivers State Police Commissioner Died Of COVID-19- Hospital

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Professor Ikpeme Ikpeme, has confirmed that the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Jimoh reportedly died from COVID-19 related ailment on Friday.

The CMD noted that the Commissioner, “was dead on arrival”, adding, “COVID-19 protocols will be followed before his body will be evacuated,”.

He enjoined those who were with him to visit the hospital for COVID-19 test and self -isolate thereafter.

The State Governor, Ben Ayade while commiserating with the bereaved, noted that Jimoh’s death was a great loss to the state, country and the police force.

Until his death, Jimoh was the Cross River State Commissioner of Police for five months. He took over from Nkereuwem Akpan in July this year
