Dangote Cement Plc has announced it exported a total of 211 kilotons of cement to Ghana, Togo and Niger Republic in the first quarter of 2018.
A statement yesterday from the company’s Corporate Communications department said its production volume in Nigeria also increased significantly by 5.3 per cent to nearly 4 million tons for the period under review.
In the company’s first quarter audited results for the three months ended March 31, 2018 which it announced on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Dangote Cement’s gross revenue increased by 16 per cent, from N208.12bn in the corresponding period of 2017 to N242.1bn.
Its gross profit for the period also rose from N120.36bn to N144.76bn indicating an increase of 20.30 per cent. While profit before tax rose y 40.2 per cent, from N77.32bn to N108.04bn, profit after tax for the period went up by 29 per cent, from N55.8bn to N72.12bn.
The Chairman, Dangote Cement, Aliko Dangote, expressed his delight in having Cherie and Mick on the board of Dangote Cement. “They bring diverse and valuable experience of emerging-market business, sustainability and governance to our board,” Dangote said.
