On the heels of consistent herdsmen attacks, Former Defense Minister, retired Lieutenant General Theophilus Danjuma will on Wednesday speak on herdsmen attacks and the impact on stability in Nigeria.
He was invited to address the British House of Lords on how the attacks have been affecting ethnic minorities especially in the North.
He will be hosted by Lord Alton of Liverpool and Baroness Cox of Queenbury.
Violent clashes between armed herdsmen and farmers in the last 12 months have left several hundreds of people dead and destruction of property worth billions of naira.
TheBridge News has learnt that Danjuma will be speaking at Committee Corridor, House of Lords between 2pm and 3pm.
The former Chief of Army Staff will be joined by the Anglican Bishop of Jos, Archbishop Ben Kwashi.
Reacting to Danjuma’s invitation by British lawmakers, President of Middle Belt Indigenous Peoples Congress, Mr Abukar Abuka, in a statement, said: “We see the positive responses of Lt Gen Danjuma as a trait of effective leadership far beyond puerile press statements associated with many opportunistic and self serving groups. He is reaching out on our behalf. He is talking to international communities.”
He added that: “Danjuma is not bogged down by electoral politics but showing concern for the future of his people. That is a good leader we cherish.”
Last Tuesday, about 95 houses were burnt by persons suspected to be armed herdsmen while eight people including three children were killed.
The victims included a clergy man and his wife, who was killed in her bathroom.
The Tuesday attack was the third this year.
In June, over 150 people were killed in Barkin Ladi, the Jos local government area where the last killing took place.
International observers have put the number of deaths since the crisis began to at least 5000 people including women and children.

Weldon but be ready for ransacks and others. welcome to your country. hmmmm
May God’s hand be upon you our true leader!
Truely Rtd.Gen Danjuma is a patroit who meant well for the masses of Nigeria. More grease to your elbow Sir.
Good move, keep it on.
This is a much needed opportunity to bring to light the brutal open and stealth Jihad launched against the people of North Eastern Nigeria & North central Nigeria in particular apart from the sporadic attacks on the people of the South East, South South & South West by the Boko haram & Fulani herdsmen at various theatres of operation across the nation in full view of president Buhari who was elected to end insecurity.
I salute our GENERAL, we are solidly behind you in any step you take.
Kokoro to nje efo, wa ninu efo. See yoruba translation to English.
I will like our retired General Danjuma to expose whoever, either individuals or groups that are behind the mass killings of Nigerians without any fear or intimidation from any end. We the true Nigerians are strongly behind him for the truth he speaks always. “WE WATCH “
Other world leaders should emulate the House of Lords and intervene to stop the killings, Islamization and colonization agenda by the killer Fulani Herdsmen and their Sponsors.
Killer Fulani Militias are being use to commit genocide against Christians in Nigeria. President Buhari and his Service-Chiefs are complicit by paying lips-service to atrocities committed by killer Fulani Militias. The perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.
Gen T.Y. Danjuma is one elder statesman i respect and cherish so much for his boldness, courage and objectivity. In an unjust society, silence is a crime. May the good Lord bless and strengthen you as you continue to speak words of truth to the masses oppressors without fear or favour. We are solidly behind you, sir. May you live longer than Methuselah.
Comment TY DANJUMA is not only a representer of Christ’s way of life, he is a good patriotic Nigerian. others who kept quiet are cowards. May God see him through.
Fearless Gen. TY Danjuma The ABONTA of the great KWARARRAFA KINDOM, the great pillar of the middle belt and the nation as a whole, may God be with you now and always. Go there and let them know what we are facing here.

Good start, Sir. The region needs people like you to lead.
General of Generals
Comment I sincerely appreciate the efforts of Gen TYDanjuma. I use this opportunity to make very simple suggestions to President Buhari if he want immediate peace to return and people to see him as a ruler and not a leader he currently pretends or I made to pretend to be.
1. Relieve all service chiefs for inability to deliver.
2. Remove the CG of NIS(immigration), the Ministers for interior.
3. Order immediate conclusion of the national identity card scheme. to be promptly followed by a national census for us to know who is a Nigerian and who is not.
4. Geopolitically restructure Nigeria now.
5. Arrange as part of the national restructuring, a national reconciliation conference in which all ethnic nationalities will be equally represented.
6. Take a bold step in dismantling any semblance of ethno-religious bias in his National management architecture.
7. Finally, looking away does not work in problem solving for it has the potentials of eating up the leadership!
God bless Gen. T.Y (Rtd.)! His boldness to stand for the defenceless at a time as this speaks Volumes!
