The International Christian Ministries, ICM, has provided a pathway to prompt religious leaders to promote leadership empowerment that will sustain a latter of growth among the people.
Such leadership it said would help facilitate development of individual potentials in the manner that they will be worthy ambassadors to the world.
Speaking at the Discipling Market Place Leaders, DML, forum in Lagos hosted by Redeem Christian Church of God, Redemption House, Benita Reed-Thomas international coordinator of the DML, based in the United States of America, made reference to the fact that Africa is moving towards full development and with capacity to transform from current economy outlook of $1 trillion to achieve over $20 trillion by 2050, it will need to build capacity of leaders to actualise that dream.
Reed-Thompson said that over the next 32 years, Africa will cease being the poor, hopeless continent and become an economic and spiritual world power.
“Africa has the potential to become both an economic powerhouse and a spiritual giant, capable of fulfilling great commission, but it must understand how to unlock its potential”, she informed, adding that Church in Nigeria must be forward looking to remain healthy to impact the required capacity to members.
According to her, Church health is about the Church, empowering every member to be a minister of good news in every community.
Coordinator of the program, Pastor Kunle Olusanya said empowerment and leadership is key to making the people realize their potentials and engage in development of the society apart from the Church.
Olusanya, said efforts should be geared towards encouraging members rather than the Church being expectant all the time, as it may not produce results asking someone in need to always donate to Church development.
Emphasis, he said should be given to make people self reliant and empower them to be modest Leaders.
