Efekoha Receives IOD Fellows Award

Eddie Efekoha, Chairman, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and Managing Director, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, was among other 40 eminent professionals and business leaders conferred with the fellowship of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria.

The Director-General/CEO of the institute, Dele Alimi, who spoke at the event in Lagos, said the award is for members with a minimum of 10-year directorship experience in reputable organisations and have distinguished themselves over the years..

The event also featured conferment of Distinguished Fellow Award on two past presidents of the institute, Chief Eniola Fadayomi and Samuel Yemi Akeju as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele and Chairman, Thorbourn Investment Limited, Justin Emmanuel.

The list also includes the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia and Chairman, John Holt, Christopher Ezeh.

Among those to be upgraded as fellows are: MD/CEO, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc., Dr. Olusegun Omosehin and Director, First Bank Nigeria, Ambrose Feese,

Others are MD/CEO, Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo; Chairman, Mobil Oil Nigeria, Oyetunji Oyebanji; Registrar General, Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Bello Mahmud and MD/CEO, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim among others.

Efekoha, is the Chairman, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA); Deputy President, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria CIIN and Chairman, College of Insurance & Financial Management (a subsidiary of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.

He is a Fellow, Chartered Insurance Institutes of London and Nigeria; Managing Director/CEO, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc; Former Executive Vice Chairman of Consolidated Risks Insurers Plc; Former Managing Director, Fountain Insurance Brokers and Former Executive Director, Technical – Glanvill Enthoven & Co. (Nig) Limited.

He holds a Bachelor degree in Insurance and Masters in Business Administration (University of Lagos); Alumnus, Lagos Business School; Alumnus, Harvard Business School and member, Ikeja Golf Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, IBB Golf& Country Club, Abuja
