The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed May 8, 2018 for the conduct of its primary election to choose its candidate for the July 14, 2018 governorship
The date was arrived at after the meeting of the National Working Committee of the party in Abuja.
The event will hold three days after the opposition All Progressives Congress holds its own primary election.
We had earlier reported that the PDP would fix its exercise after the APC would have held its own.
A memo signed by the National Organising Secretary of the PDP, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd), sighted by our correspondent conveyed the date to the State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase.
Going by the election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), parties contesting the poll have between April 15 to May 15 this year to conduct primary elections to choose their candidates for the election.
