The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has commenced preliminary investigations into the cause of the fire incident that affected some parts of the terminal building of Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri.
The fire was however curtailed swiftly by officers of the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services Department of FAAN.
There was no casualty and normal operations has since resumed at the airport.
While it apologized to passengers, airlines and other airport users for any inconvenience suffered as a result of the unfortunate incident, FAAN assured it will continue to do its best at ensuring that airports are safe, secure and comfortable for customers.
