The Federal Government has downgraded the Delta State owned Asaba Airport over the inability of the government to put in place measures that would guarantee safety and security of users of the airport.
The Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka in a statement stated that the downgrading of the airport takes immediate effect, adding that henceforth the airport would only accommodate Dash 8-Q400 aircraft or its equivalent until all the safety issues identified were rectified.
