The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) on Thursday confirmed 193 new cases of Coronavirus.
With the new discovery the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria is now 5162.
Out of the 5162 cases, 1180 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged while 167 patients have passed on.
However, a breakdown of the 193 new cases shows that 58 were found in Lagos, 46 in Kano, 35 in Jigawa, 12 in Yobe, 9 in Abuja, 7 in Ogun, 5 in Plateau, 5 in Gombe, 4 in Imo, 3 in Edo, 3 in Kwara, 3 in Borno, 1 in Nasarawa and 1 in Ondo State.
The global death toll has passed 300,000 as at Thursday, according to a tally by the Johns Hopkins University which has been keeping records since the outbreak of COVID-19.
The university said more than 4.4 million cases have also been recorded.
