The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Anambra has blamed a road traffic accident at Umuerim village to over speeding.
According to, RC Pascal A. Anigbo, Sector Public Education Officer, of the Command, “At about 5.10pm today Saturday 6 June, 2020 a serious Road Traffic Crash involving an ash coloured Toyota Camry with registration number SMK692GA and a green coloured Toyota Camry with registration number APP279FC was recorded at Umuerim Village, along Igboukwu-Aguluzoigbo road.
“A total of Four(4) people(2 male adults and 2 female adults) we’re involved in the crash, which was reportedly caused by Excessive Speed and Loss of Control. The Two females involved sustained some degree of injuries. No death was recorded. The injured victims were rushed to an unknown hospital by sympathizers, before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Unit Command. The team cleared the obstruction caused and ensured free flow of traffic.”
Anigbo, said that the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi admonished drivers to always drive within stipulated driving limits, applying common sense speed limits, especially within built-up areas. Most Road Traffic Crashes are avoidable.
