The Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, has reported that an articulated vehicle, popularly known as, “senior truck”, with registration number TWD239XA had crashed into a big gutter at Regina Ceali junction along Awka-Enugu Expressway, destroying not less than Three functioning street lights and the designed road demarcation.
According to an eye witness, the crash occurred in the night of 12th March, 2020 during a heavy downpour. The driver and his conductor sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital by sympathizers.
The truck has been towed to the Police Station (‘B’ Division), by FRSC tow truck operatives, as directed by Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, for further investigation by the Police.
Consequently, the Sector Commander advised all motorists to always drive with caution and maximum concentration, especially as the rainy season is fast approaching.
