Group Backs Lanre Edun Bid To Return To National Assembly

The ‘Ogun G-20 Iseya’ group has call for another term for Hon Olanrewaju Edun to represent Abeokuta South Constituency at the National Assembly, with a conviction that, he has performed creditably well, hence, need to return him to the hallow chamber in the next political dispensation

The group which has started mobilizing for the lawmaker ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC), primaries and general election is headed by Dr Kehinde Ololade

The group while affirming its conviction for re-election of Edun identified number of feats recorded by him, within the period he has been representing Abeokuta constituency at the hallow chamber, adding that the body is well pleased with him

The leader of the ‘Ogun G-20 Iseya’, during an interview with journalists expressed joy about the first term election of Edun, stressing that the populace back home has no regret on his choice

‘Olanrewaju Edun is harbinger of progress in Abeokuta South, 3 years plus of sterling performance. Edun representing the good people of Abeokuta South at the hallowed chamber in Abuja remains the best decision made by the good people of Abeokuta South’, Ololade declared.

The group added that following the event of things cum the developmental strides of the federal lawmaker, it is crystal clear that he has performed wonderfully well beyond expectation and would be genuinely support for another term.

The group itemized some of constituency projects facilitated by Edun which include: one block of three classrooms completed on the following schools: Imo Methodist School Okeyeke, Community Primary School,Oke-Lantoro, Rev Kuti Primary School Isabo, Baptist Primary School ,Bode Ijaye (One block of six (6) classrooms), Moshood Abiola Primary School Adatan ,Federal Staff School Lemme- Olorombo and Baptist Primary School, Idi Aba

The other projects by the lawmaker include: installation of 12 transformers into different community in Abeokuta South: Asero EEstate ,OGD Estate , Olose Community, Olobi Community, Kuto Community, Oluwo Adigbe Community, Saraki Adigbe Community,Oluwo Basala via Madojutimi area, T junction at Ori Oke Didahun Si Adura Sake, Oke I’ma Community, Abeokuta Club beside Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Abeokuta, Kemta Abule Oya ,Kemta Okedo and Oke Ilagbe community

 

Edun also succeeded in empowerment programme which include: distribution of motorcycles to individuals, distribution of dryers for hairdressers, distribution of sewing machines to tailors, grinding machines distributed to people from different wards, distribution of fish pond to people from different wards and community in Abeokuta federal constituency and distribution of snail rearing equipment to people from different wards including Community Development Association(CDA) members

The Federal lawmaker in similar vein, facilitated training of 100 people for catering and soft loan for establishment, drilling of borehole to different locations which include: Oba Lipede Market Kuto, Labaiwa Community Oke Aregba, Oke Ijeun Community

Other feats recorded by Edun was empowerment programme for 150 people from Community Development Association(CDA), installation of 600 solar lights to different communities and marketplace in Abeokuta South Local Government

The lawmaker in similar records touched education which remains the bedrock of success in any society and made it a major priority, with the equipment of number of schools with educational facilities

The following are the materials he facilitated for benefits of the schools within his constituency: supply of modern tables and chairs, mathematics book for Primary 1-3, English language for Primary 1-3 and Basic Science and Technology for Primary 1-6

The list include: National Value for Primary 1-3, Phonics right path, Spelling champion, The heritage, Customize note book, Biros, Four drawer steel cabinet, Pupil modernized furniture (plastic chair and table), Head teacher table and chair, Teacher table and chair, Printers, A4 Printing paper ,Desktop computer, Uninterrupted power supply and Generator (Eco 8990ES)

Edun in related development facilitated road construction and drainage in some areas which are: construction of road at Oluwo Surulere 1, Adigbe, construction work dualisation of Abeokuta – Ajebo road and construction of road at Oluwo Oderinde road, Adigbe Abeokuta.

The federal lawmaker in the same vein facilitated job opportunities for the youths, who secured employment to some agencies such as Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC),Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC),as well as proving platform for 50 youths as beneficiaries of the NPOWER programme

The lawmaker during the coronavirus lockdown, facilitated loan between the range of N500,000, N200,000 and N150,000 for 150 people, going home with N30,000 as support

He also facilitated cash empowerment for some associations in Abeokuta South Local Government to support their small scale businesses, and equally facilitated empowerment for 500 aged women

The group emphasized that, in view of the above achievements, it has resolved to encourage Edun to continue his good work, stressing that, one good turn deserves another.
