Some young Nigerians deeply concerned about rising crime in the society have introduced a device that can help reduce crime through early detection and tracking of criminals.

These young entrepreneurs have channelled their energies to bringing to the barest minimum, crimes relating to car theft, kidnapping and other violent crimes .

The launch of the product called Tracker.ng, a Tracking device that allows individuals monitor, locate and demobilize stolen vehicles irrespective of location and time in the case of theft by the group is bring relief to many Nigerians.

The uniqueness of the product lies in the low cost rate,self-service feature, and easy-to-use technology.

Speaking with Oriental News Nigeria at the unveiling of the device in separate interviews Mr Nwokoma Williams and Mr Ekene who are behind the project shed light at the benefits of the device.

Williams who used illustration to explain the real reason why they ventured into the project said,
“While flipping through the dailies one faithful day at the office, our attention was brought to a story of Emmanuel Egwatu, a lawyer aged 36 who was shot dead at Asaba, Delta State, after a struggle with armed vehicle snatchers.

This unfortunate situation was discussed at our office and lots of questions were raised, but chief among them was ‘Why didn’t he have a vehicle tracker?’, that alone would have saved his life and recovered his vehicle.

Speaking further he said that research has revealed that over 65 vehicles are stolen across Nigeria daily.

“After a market survey with vehicle owners across Nigeria we learnt (1) cost, and (2) difficulties faced when using existing vehicle trackers have been the major reasons for its low use. Further findings revealed 85% of the over 17 million vehicles in Nigeria are not tracked. At that point, a new story started among us with a clear goal in our hearts, ‘To Develop and Provide Super Excellent Tracking Services, at Rock-Bottom Prices’.

“In the course of our work, we saw a strong need to include child tracking for parent to have peace of mind. Today, we are happy to announce that YOU can track your vehicle in real time, view track history but most importantly demobilize your vehicle in times of theft just with a click of a button with only N10,000/year.

Speaking on the benefits, Ekene said. “We ensure that vehicle owners with ease via mobile or PC track their vehicles in real time, view their track history and importantly demobilize their vehicle in times of theft just with a click of a button at only N10,000/year.

Also, parents can track and monitor their kids in real-time and have ‘peace of mind’ while at it, he explained.
