Guinea Insurance has announced the appointment of a Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer within its leadership ranks with effect from 1st March, 2018, in order to pave way for phenomenal superintendence of the company’s affairs.
The appointment of Babatunde Olarinde Oshadiya as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Guinea Insurance Plc, was on 15th February 2018 ratified by the Board of the company. He brings over 30 years of leadership experience and direction to the table.
His combined expertise in retail marketing, insurance brokerage, underwriting, risk management and strategic planning, offer a formidable springboard that will relaunch the company’s readiness to act and hence become more effective. Prior to his appointment, Babatunde had championed the affairs of many companies in the insurance industry viz; Westfield Insurance Broker Limited, Unity Capital Assurance Limited, Healthcare Security Limited, FUG Pensions Limited, Lasaco Assurance Plc, Oasis Insurance Plc, ACEN Insurance Plc, NEM Insurance Plc, Metropolitan General Insurance Company Limited and Federal Ministry of Finance. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos. He is an Associate Member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN).
In a statement by the Chairman, Board of Directors of the company, Barr. Godson Ugochukwu, he averred that precedents have been set; Babatunde has demonstrated exemplary leadership and management sagacity throughout his career, there is therefore, no reason to doubt that the company will grow to become an investors’ delight in no distant time in the future. In conclusion, he added: “I strongly believe that it is not the size of the man in the fight that counts, but the size of the fight in the man.”
