The Senate on Wednesday, March 10, demanded that preparations be made for safe and quick return of displaced persons from Ogun State who escaped the country following clashes between farmers and herdsmen.
The Senate therefore asked the Federal Government to direct officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs; to commence the process of bringing back the people of Yewa in Ogun State who had relocated to the Republic of Benin over the incident.
The Senate resolution followed to a point of order raised by the Senator representing Ogun West, Tolu Odebiyi.
Also, the Senate mandated relevant security agencies to restore law and order in the troubled communities.
