A hit-and-run driver in a white Lexus 330 Jeep, without registration number and whose identity was not captured, had knocked down two male adults on a black Denstar CG motorcycle with registration number WER 968 UG at about 2217hrs opposite FRSC Office Nnewi Unit Command.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred as a result loss of control by the Lexus Jeep driver due to excessive speed and fled after crashing into the motorcycle, RC K Musa,,spokesman of the FRSC Anambra State Command said.
The victims two adults were rushed to Felix Okolo Hospital Nnewi by FRSC rescue team from Nnewi Unit Command for medical attention while the obstruction is being cleared but no death was recorded.
The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, strongly warned drivers to always drive with common sense speed limits so that they can easily control their vehicles, in the event of any emergency. A
maximum speed limit of 50km/hr is what the law allowed for cars, within built-up areas, he said.
