A reckless driver has killed a middle aged man and zoomed off thereafter.
According to SP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, “On the 16/7/2020 at about 11:pm,close to NNPC mega filling station along Enugu/Onitsha Expressway Awka, a middle aged man of about six feet tall whose identity is not yet known was knocked down by a hit and run vehicle .As a result,victim became unconscious.”
Mohammed said Police operatives attached to B’ Division Awka visited the scene and rushed victim to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching hospital Amaku Awka where he was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor on duty and the corpse deposited at the same hospital mortuary for postmortem Examination and preservation.
Meanwhile, efforts to locate the relatives of the victim proved abortive since the date of the accident.
Victim wore long sleeve shirt and blue jean at the time of the accident.
The Command has urged the public whose relations got missing and matched above description to report at B’ Division Awka for possible identification and claim of the victim.
