HIV Positive Man In Prison After Raping A Teenager

Mr. Audu Ado, who is also said to be HIV positive, has been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Gwarjo Village, Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Ado, 40, allegedly committed the crime over a period of five months before nemesis caught up with him.

The victim’s father, Ibrahim Dan Mallam, who lodged the report about the incident at the Divisional Police Station in Matazu, told the police that he and Ado are both from the same village.

He said Ado always lured his daughter to a nearby bush before defiling her.

Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, said Ado committed an offence of rape that is contrary to the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code Law.

He added that investigation was still continuing into the matter.

Ado was remanded in prison custody till May 7, this year by Magistrate Fadile Dikko, when the matter would come up for mention.

In another development, the Katsina State Police Command has arrested Sanusi Sani, 30, and Bello Abdullahi also 30, for alleged armed robbery.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, the suspects, on March 4, this year, blocked the Tashar Kawu-Unguwar Zaki Road, and robbed one Abbas Halilu of a

Techno phone valued at N10,000 and an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle valued at N180,000.

They were reportedly armed while carrying out the crime.

The PPRO said the suspects confessed to have sold the motorcycle for N100,000 in Kano.
