The president of igbo youth congress Mr. Bright Ezeocha has congratulated Chief Gani Adams on his new position as Aare Ona Kakanfo of yorubaland.
Ezeocha said that the nomination by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was a rare feat that deserves public support.
He said “chief Gani Adams has done a lot for humanity. For the past two decades, he has been promoting Yoruba culture across the world. He is an asset to humanity. He is a good friend of Ndigbo. We congratulate him on his conferment with title of the new Aare Onakakanfo of yorubaland”.
He further stated that chief Gani Adams began his career as a defender of human rights at a very tender age and that he has not given up the crusade in over two decades of mentorious services to his fatherland. According to Mr. Bright Ezeocha, Chief Gani Adams has been detained and persecuted for what he believed in and has proved to be a reliable ally. ” we hope younger people will learn from his experience, he said.
In the same vein, Ezeocha said “we in Igbo Youth Congress (IYC) have had course to work with him at different levels. He is a courageous man. He is highly disciplined. He is conscientious and bold. We urge him to use his position to further unite the Yoruba and the Igbo people at this critical period of Nigeria’s history.
In addition, Ezeocha said this is a good opportunity for the Yoruba youth. It is a proof that younger people in Nigeria have hope. We want other institutions to learn from what the Alaafin of Oyo has done. He has recognized the energy and contributions of younger people to the advancement of democracy, justice and the fight for freedom.
