The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the National Assembly election in Zaki Federal Constituency of Bauchi State inconclusive.
The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who made the disclosure at a stakeholders’ meeting in Bauchi ahead of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, said re-runs for the National Assembly election would hold alongside the elections scheduled for Saturday.
He noted that in spite of the relative peace enjoyed during the February 23 election, there were few issues that called for concern and which needed to be addressed before the next round of elections in Bogoro, Tafawa-Balewa, Dass, Zaki and Gamawa Local Government Areas.
“As we prepare for the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, I am appealing to all political stakeholders, particularly contestants, to prevail on their supporters to allow peace to reign before, during and after the next elections,” he said.
