The people and government of Kano state have commended the steadfastness and dedication to duty by the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, now an Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu.
Ahmed Iliyasu’s reign as Kano CP witnessed a tremendous improvement in security of lives and properties of the good people of Kano* through a robust strategic partnership with the grassroot.
References were made to how Iliyasu battled to a standstill, notorious cases of armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, stealing, cultism and so on.
The rescue of the 9 kidnapped children and Magajin Garin Daura was repeatedly applauded as not just an achievement but a display of rare professionalism and commitment.
While speaking at the dinner reception on Saturday night, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje corroborated the many statements of facts on the giant strides of AIG Ahmed Iliyasu as a Kano CP.
According to the governor, “The strategic modern policing technique used by AIG Iliyasu as CP in Kano is still being enjoyed till date and the entire People and Government of Kano State remains proud to have known and worked with him, and we are fully aware that one night is not enough to appreciate his immense contributions to the security of our dear State”.
Also, the immediate past Chairman of PCRC in Ogun State during Iliyasu’s time as CP in the Gateway State and now the National Vice Chairman in charge of PCRC southwest geopolitical zone, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan,*during a sent forth earlier organized for AIG Iliyasu by the incumbent Compol Kano State, CP Habu A. Sani, referred to AIG Ahmed Iliyasu as a disciplined, God fearing and highly dedicated senior Police Officer.
His words were further affirmed by the testimonies of Kano State Command senior officers who qualified AIG Iliyasu as a mentor, leader, teacher and pathfinder.
