SP Gambo Isah, the Katsina state police public relations officer has disclosed that the command recently recovered 7 additional corpses of suspected bandits/kidnappers at Shabba forest in Jibia area of the state.
Giving update on the progress made on the ongoing mop up operations in Shabba forest, Isah said, “You will recall that on 19/03/2020 at about 0600hrs, based on a tip off, joint Police/Military Operation codoned and engaged suspected bandits in a gun duel at Shabba Forest, Jibia LGA of Katsina state in the process recovered nineteen (19) cows, seventeen (17) sheep and thirty four (34) goats , in the custody of the criminals leading to death of many bandits while others escaped with gun shots wounds”
Isah further stated that the operation through DPO Jibia who led search parties into Shabba Forest and recovered seven additional corpses of suspected bandits that were killed during the encounter with the joint security forces.
He stated that the teams are still combing the forest with a view of arresting the bandits, recovery of more of their corpses and operational weapons and that investigation is ongoing.
