Katsina Police Rescues Kidnapped Victim, Recover 2 Motorcycles

The Police in Katsina has successfully rescued a Kidnapped victim.

According to the Command, “Today 23/11/2020 at about 01:00hrs, Area Commander, Dutsinma, led ‘Operation Puff Adder’ to Habul Mountain, at the fringes of Rugu forest, Safana LGA of Katsina state, based on the report that bandits in their numbers, armed with AK 47 rifles, attacked Gammo village, Safana and kidnapped one Hafsatu Idris, ‘F’, aged 55yrs of the same address.  

The team laid siege at the possible escape route of the bandits.  Fortunately, at about 04:20hrs, the bandits followed through the route and consequently, there was exchange of gun fire.   The team succeeded in rescuing the kidnapped victim and also recovered two unregistered Bajaj motorcycles.  Many of the bandits escaped into the forest with bullets wounds as there were traces of blood stains left at the scene. Police teams are presently combing the forest with a view to recover died bodies and/or arrest the wounded bandits.  Investigation is ongoing.”

Also,,based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Yalle John, ‘M’, aged 31yrs of Shagari Low Cost, Katsina, a notorious thief who specializes in breaking into dwelling houses and committing theft therein.  

Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he broke into the dwelling house of once Zakari Dayyabu, ‘M’, of Behind KTTV Quarters, Katsina and stole (1) one Uniform Mattress valued N50,000:00K, (2) one LG Plasma Television valued N120,000, (3) one Sumec Generator valued N72,000, (4) one stabilizer valued N15,000:00K, (5) one Termer Cool Refrigerator valued N110,000:00K (6) One HP Laptop valued N120,000:00k.  In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to the commission of the offence and all the items were recovered in his possession with the exception of the HP Laptop computer.  

In a similar operation, the Command succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of thieves that specializes in house breaking and theft. One Zulaihat Iliyasu, ‘F’, aged 27yrs and Alhassan Iliyasu, ‘M’, aged 15yrs both of Sayako Quarters, Minna, Niger state were accosted when they broke into three (3) dwelling houses at Kwado Quarters, Katsina and stole house hold items therein.  

In the course of investigation, large bunches of master keys were recovered from their possession during police search.  Suspects confessed to be members of organize syndicate of thieves that specializes in house breaking and theft using master keys and have come all along way from Niger state to Katsina state to perpetrate their nefarious crimes.
