Media Practitioners under the auspices of Kogi Central Media Practitioners Association has commended the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his transformative agenda in the state.

The President of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa-Amoka, gave the commendation when he led other members of the Association on a courtesy visit on the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Isa Ismail in Lokoja.

He said the governor’s commitment to the welfare of workers, infrastructural development and security in the state was second to none.

Alhaji Isa-Amoka who is a one time state chairman of the Kogi state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, intimated the Special Adviser that the group was planning to hold a national Media summit and solicited the support of the government in actualizing the summit.

While also appreciating the Special Adviser for his role at ensuring adequate publicity for government programmes and policies, Alhaji Amoka pledged the commitment of the group to disseminating information that would promote the Governor Usman Ododo led administration and unity among the the various ethnic groups of the state.

The General Manager, Radio Nigeria Prime FM Lokoja, and pioneer member of the group, Alhaji Adeiza Momoh jimoh said the government of Alhaji Usman Ododo has so far performed well, especially in the uplifting the welfare of the downtrodden.

He urged the Governor to continue to unite the state especially the people of central senatorial district.

The Director General Radio Kogi, Hajia Nana Hauwa Yusuf appreciated the governor for appointing her as the first female DG of the Radio station, the appointment of other members of the group into key positions in his administration, stressing that the media was out to promote the government.

In a remark the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Isa Ismail appreciated the group for the visit.

He said the administration of Governor Ododo since assumption of office had promoted a media agenda built on bottom to the top approach, which ensures placing the local media above those outside the state.

The SA said his office which is central to the amplification of government activities would continue to liaise with the group to ensure the success of the present administration.

He maintained that Governor Ododo was continuing from where the immediate past governor stopped especially in the areas of infrastructure, human capacity development, security, health and education
