The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Kogi State Council, extends its heartfelt appreciation to Governor Usman Ododo for implementing a new harmonization plan for all categories of pensioners in the state.

During a recent courtesy visit to the Kogi State Head of Service, the union’s chairman, Comrade Clement Ohida, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his compassionate gesture towards the state’s retirees during this time.

Comrade Ohida highlighted that the last increase in pension for pensioners was realized about 20 years ago, emphasizing the significance of Governor Ododo’s recent actions.

The Chairman commended the Governor for his consistent and timely payment of monthly pensions, the new pension harmonization, and the implementation of a Health Insurance Scheme for pensioners in Kogi State.

Furthermore, Comrade Ohida thanked the Head of Service for his unwavering support and dedication to the welfare of Kogi Pensioners.

In response, the Head of Service, Mr. Elijah Evinemi FCA, praised the union’s leadership for their patience and resilience, assuring them of the Governor’s commitment to prioritizing the pensioners’ welfare.

Mr. Evinemi also assured the pensioners of the state government’s plans to find a long-term financial solution to comprehensively address the backlog of gratuities
