The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has ensured the restoration of vandalized equipment and ensured that the Ochaja Booster Station of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation begins full operations.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo commended the Governor for promptly responding to the needs of the people, expressing his satisfaction with the unity and cooperation among the key stakeholders in the region.

Hon Fanwo described Governor Ododo as a detribalised governor. A Governor that believes in the welfare of his people and infrastructural development, admonishing the people to stop vandalising government properties and instead, see them as their own properties.

He charged the traditional rulers and political leaders to take full responsibility and ensure that government properties are well secured and protected.

“What I am seeing here is cooperation, unity, and loyalty to the Government of Kogi State. I want to say a big thank you. Information is power, Information is life. Someone who is not informed has no life in him or her.

It is not all about Ododo. It is not Ododo’s property. It is your property. I believe that the radio station belongs to the people of Kogi East. Take ownership of it. We must brace up the factors that unite us and eliminate the things that divide us. We are one people. Therefore, we must continue to preach unity and oneness. Our conviction about the two vandalisations is that they were political. Governor Ododo approved all the resources needed to bring the station back to life, but please take ownership of it. We are leaving the station in your hands. Protect it. Let’s secure government infrastructure,” Hon. Fanwo charged.

The Chairman Dekina LGA, Hon John Ikani, in his opening remarks appreciated the Executive Governor of the State, Alhaji Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo for their efforts to ensure that the vandalised booster station is restored, promising that all hands would be on deck to ensure adequate security of the station. He pledged that vandalism of government properties would no longer occur.

The Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Comrade Williams Ameh, admonished the people in the region to take full ownership of government assets, adding that radio is one of the easiest medium of disseminating information to a larger audience.

The Ejeh of Dekina, HRM Usman Obaje, commended Governor Ododo and Hon Fanwo for their unwavering commitment to ensure the full operations of the radio station, warning hoodlums to desist from the destruction and vandalisation of government properties. He therefore appealed to the chairmen of the nine Local Government Areas in Kogi East to take charge of the full security of the booster station as it is not just government property but also the Igala Community property as it was established to ensure proper coverage of activities in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Representing the Area Commander, the DPO Ayingba, SP Cletus Esinulo in his remarks highlighted his responsibility to secure the Ochaja Booster Station, assuring that his men would be on ground 24/7  to secure the station.

In attendance at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Ebenezer Adurodija, Director General Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Hajiya Nana-hawa Yussuff and others.
