Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has condemned in the strongest terms the attack on Odo Ape community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.

The Governor in his determination to protect the people and provide all round security has directed an immediate and coordinated crackdown on the attackers.

The Governor also instructed the State Security Adviser to collaborate closely with conventional security Agencies and local vigilante groups to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.

The government urges all residents to remain calm as comprehensive measures are being taken to secure the area and prevent further violence. His Excellency emphasizes that reprisals will only exacerbate the situation, leading to further losses, as witnessed in the unfortunate events at Odo Ape.

The Ododo Administration extends heartfelt condolences to the affected families and communities.

The government further reassures all citizens of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

The State Government appeals to residents to volunteer credible intelligence that will aid security agencies in their operations. Every life in Kogi State is of utmost value, and collective efforts are essential to combat criminality effectively.

The Ododo Administration reiterates its firm stance against crime and assures residents that it will not relent in its pursuit of a secure and peaceful Kogi State. The government remains resolute in building capacity to confront and defeat threats to peace and security.

Meanwhile, Security operatives have been deployed to Odo Ape and other identified flashpoints to restore normalcy and ensure the protection of lives and properties. The government assures the public that peace will be fully restored within the shortest possible time.
