The Governor of Kwara State Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Dutch Health Insurance Fund to establish Health Insurance Fund in the state.
Gov. Ahmed, who signed on behalf of the State Government, said that the agreement would ensure the sustainability of the state’s Community Health Insurance Scheme.
He assured the Dutch partners that the state government would continue to strengthen partnership with all stakeholders in setting up the Fund and provide health infrastructure for the people of the state.
Ahmed promised to extend the Community Health Insurance Scheme to all parts of the state with a view to improving access to qualitative healthcare delivery in the state.
He thanked the Dutch government, Hygeia and PharmAccess for their support to the state health sector.
Earlier, the Chairman, Dutch’s Health Insurance Fund, Mr. Kees Storm, who signed on behalf of the Dutch Government, said that the Kwara State Health Insurance Fund would pool resources from the state government, federal government, communities, development partners and private sector to ensure a successful future of the programme.
