The Lagos State Government has announced that the reconstruction and expansion of the Airport road will commence Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Following this, the State through the State’s Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA),

Has advised motorists and commuters to make use of alternative routes from Agege motor road to Murtala Muhammed International Airport road and adjoining communities

According to a statement issued Wednesday by LASTMA, the road reconstruction will lead to the closure of some inward and outward roads of Ewe Nla, Kunle Akinusi and Akanji Odutola roads, amongst others.

Consequently, it noted that vehicles going from Agege motor road to Oshodi – Apapa expressway are enjoined to turn to Bolade unto Church street to link Mafoluku road to connect with the Airport Road while motorists can also navigate from Agege motor road at Bolade to connect Oja Oke.

The statement stated further that vehicles, especially trucks were advised to use the ramp in order to link Oshodi-Oke and make a detour at Anthony or Gbagada, other road users intending to link Ajao Estate from the Airport road are to go through Five-Star, Iyana Isolo or Limca junction.

It also advised that Motorists, with the exemption of trailers and trucks, intending to use Ewe Nla, Kunle Akinosi to link Ladipo, Mafoluku and Oshodi road from Oshodi Oke are to use Afari Ogun street to connect the Airport road

While acknowledging the inconvenience the diversions may cause, the statement enjoined motorists and commuters to exercise restraint discipline as well as cooperate with the State traffic officials that have been deployed by the agency to ensure a free flow of traffic on the provided alternative routes.

The Agency assured motorists of regular appraisal of strategy to correct any observed impediment at the alternative routes throughout the duration of the reconstruction.
