The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI has stepped up arrangements to ensure successful hosting of the 2016, Lagos International Trade Fair.
Sola Oyetayo chairman of the Trade Promotion Board of the LCCI while announcing the upcoming event, said the 2016 Trade Fair, will hold from Friday 4th November to Sunday 13th November, 2016.
Oyetayo disclosed that the event will be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari just as he promised that the 2016 edition of the Fair would surpass expectations of all stakeholders in all ramifications
The theme of the fair “Positioning the Nigerian Economy for Diversification and Sustainable Growth” was carefully chosen to encourage governments at all levels to consider diversification with special reference to sustainable growth, he said.
According to him, Our economy is diversified to a certain level, we need to intensify on this vigorously and inject sufficient dose of sustainability into our economic management strategies. Surely, this is urgently required with a political will to pull Nigeria out of the current predicament.
Continuing he stated, “It is true that nations of world are generally experiencing economic turmoil, particularly in the wake of continuous dropping of the oil price.
Nigerian economy has been worst hit largely because of the lip service paid to other sectors of the economy while depending only on oil for earnings over the years”.
