The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has mourned the passing of the South West Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Arabinrin Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya.

He described the demise of Adesanya as a great loss to the ruling party and the deceased’s family, friends, and political associates, especially the ruling party, considering her unique position as South-West APC Women Leader.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, expressed shock and sadness over the departure of Adesanya, saying the APC South-West Women Leader would be greatly missed by the party.

The Governor described the late Adesanya as a passionate, trustworthy, committed politician, leader, women advocate and an invaluable asset to APC in the South-West region.

He said: “The death of Arabinrin Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya is a painful and big loss to our party, APC, in the South-West. It is also a great loss to the deceased’s family, friends, and political associates.

“She was a devoted, passionate, and committed team player who played remarkable roles in the success of our party at the state, zonal, and national levels during her lifetime. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and the entire political class.

“I pray that God would grant the soul of our beloved South-West APC Women Leader, Arabinrin Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya, eternal rest and comfort to the immediate and political families she left behind.”
