In its bid to set new standards in private security and consulting in Nigeria, LEAD Integrated Security Solutions (LISS), a subsidiary of LEAD Security Group, USA has officially launched its operations in the country.

The unveiling, which took place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, had in attendance renowned stakeholders in the sector.

The President/CEO, LEAD Security Group, and LEAD Integrated Security Solutions (LISS), Ifeanyi Obinali disclosed that the company is combining physical and digital approach – using humans and the best available technologies to solve the myriad of security challenges facing the country.

He explained that the company’s main focus is to provide efficient security services across various sectors; deploy technological systems to support the physical aspects, as well as build trust and partnerships with clients and organisations through effective security solutions.

Obinali, who is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) with over 16 years of experience in corporate security, risk assessment, crisis response, and strategic security development said the objective is to start in Nigeria and gradually expand to other African countries.

Riding on the back of the parent company’s success in the USA, with over 350 employees in New York and New Jersey across critical sectors, the security expert, while highlighting the importance of safety of lives and properties said Nigerians can use better security than what is currently on ground.

His words: “What we see in Nigeria is a lot more of physical security. What we are trying to do is bring a combination of physical and digital security. Physical security is good, but if you add technology, it becomes better.

“Artificial Intelligence is the now thing, no longer the next big thing. What that means is that we need to start getting AI involved in what we do. We need to let intelligence systems work for us, so that we can address security issues before they happen, which is our goal. We will be combining physical and digital to enable us provide a robust security system for our clients.

“I feel that our major problem in the country is intelligence gathering.
It is important to anticipate things before they happen, which is where intelligence comes in. In the country, we hear about kidnapping and Fulani herdsmen maiming communities. Security systems should be able to pick up these things early before they happen and communicate with the community and law enforcement agencies so that everyone is aware and do what is necessary on time to avoid bloodshed.

“We cannot continue to have situations where people are being attacked in their sleep. All that needs to stop”.

On his part, Mike Petty, Managing Director, Thermal Imaging Radar, USA, pointed out that security solutions has longed moved away from just providing people with uniforms, saying there is need to do more by using sophisticated technologies and AI to improve the sector from what it used to be.

“Happy to partner with LISS in providing the needed and best technology systems to enable it achieve its goal of becoming the number one security solutions provider in Nigeria, and by extension the African continent. Together, we will change the security landscape with the right technology”, he said.

Also speaking, Tobias See, the Managing Director, Riley Falcon Security Services in Nairobi, Kenya commended Obinali for the vision to take security solutions to the next level in Nigeria.

See, who has about 40 years experience in the industry called for more collaboration and the inclusion of new entrants with big ideas and vision into the sector, while pledging to work with Obinali to make the company a success.

“African has a complex landscape different from the rest of the world and our solutions to problems must be tailor made to effectively deal with our challenges. LEAD Integrated Security Solutions has taken the right step in the right direction to bring this cutting-edge solution to Nigeria at this point in time”, he added.

In the same vein, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Mohammed (Rtd), SRVP, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) commended Obinali for coming back home to fix some of the gaps in the private security solutions industry in Nigeria.

According to him, LISS has stood out in the United States security market due to the hard work and determination of the founder, as well as its top-notch service delivery built on a solid foundation, adding that the company will also do well in Nigeria.
