Magistrate K. A. Ariyo sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to a count charge of stealing on arraignment.
Ariyo convicted him after finding him guilty as charged and sentenced him to eight months imprisonment with hard labour.
She, however, advised the convict not to follow the part of crime after serving his terms.
The Magistrate had sentenced the convict after the review of facts by the court’s prosecutor, Insp Benedict Aigbokhan.
Earlier, the prosecutor told the court that the convict committed the offence on June 9, at 6.30 p.m., at Twince Faja Supermarket, Egbeda, Idimu, Lagos.
He said the convict entered the supermarket and stole two bottles of wine worth N40,000.
According to him, the two bottles of wine included a bottle of Campari and Cirok Vodak wine, belonging to the complainant, Twince Faja Supermarket.
He said that the offence contravened section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
