Man Kills Self In Lagos

A commercial bus driver, identified as Kabiru Bello has committed suicide by drinking insecticide. 

The incident happened at the LadyLack area of Shomolu, Lagos. 

The 43 -year – old Bello had left his home at Owode Ibeshe, area of Ikorodu to a mechanic workshop at Shomolu where he parked his Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number AKD 724 XM and drank a bottle of a sniper .

The Lagos State police public relations officer ( PPRO) DSP Bala Elkana, said the man was rushed to Adesola clinic Shomolu where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The PPRO said detectives from the homicide Department have visited the scene:

“One empty bottle of chemical substances suspected to be sniper was recovered. The body has been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy” Elkana said 

In a different development, the Lagos State Police has recovered two Single Barrel Guns from Fleeing  armed robbery suspects. 

According to Elkana: Ilemba Hausa Police Station received a distress call that one Wale Lawal was dispossessed of his laptop by some armed robbers. 

A team of Policemen deployed to the scene gave the hoodlums a hot chase and they abandoned their black Honda vehicle with registration number Lagos KJA 705 BU. On the spot search was carried out on the vehicle and two locally made single barrel guns with twelve life cartridges, one laptop  and one mobile phone were recovered inside  the vehicle”

“The vehicle was moved to the station for further investigation and investigation is ongoing” Elkana concluded.
