To further strengthen its operations, Med-View Airline has taken delivery of a B767-300.
The aircraft would also help beef up its plan for international operations.
Managing Director of the airline, Alhaj Muneer Bankole said the plane will be positioned on August 15 for this year’s Hajj operations.
At the end of hajj airlift in September through October 2015, he said the aircraft will be ready for international operations into Gatwitch airport with complimentary journey for passengers by British rail to Victoria. It will also start the Jeddah and Dubai routes shortly.
Muneer further hinted that his airline would soon take delivery of a B777 ,the first by any Nigerian carrier and also be deployed for the hajj operations,adding that a total of 10,000 pilgrims are expected to be airlifted by the airline in the South West, South East and Maiduguri.
He said two sets of Nigerian pilots have been trained at the Pan-Am Training Center in the US to take over command of the B767-300 from the Mexican pilots that flew the plane into Lagos.
The aircraft which was lease-purchased from AeroMexico has capacity for 30 Business Class and 221 Economy already registered 5N-BQN is nicknamed after thelate mother of managing director- ABEKE.
