The statement signed by the Editor of Transport Day newspaper, Mr. Frank Kintum, stated that the MD of NAMA was chosen to deliver this year’s lecture because of his pedigree in the aviation sector spanning so many years.
Other highlights of the event billed to hold in Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos include the recognition of some notable companies and individuals that have made their marks in the different modes of transportation.
“we have carefully looked at the transportation and logistics sectors and as an active stakeholder, we were able to identify some companies and individuals who stood out while contributing their quota to the growth of the industry” he said.
It would be recalled that the maiden Lecture was delivered by the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, while the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Institute of Logistics Management, Mr. Ibukun Akinduro delivered the 2nd edition lecture.
The award which is being backed by journalists, transport analysts and communications experts is being supported by the Nigeria Transport Round Table, a pressure group in the Nigerian transport circles as well as some media houses.
According to Kintum, “though the award is packaged by Transport Day Newspaper, we decided to ensure that some credible panellists who are not part of Transport Day should be involved in the selection process”.
