NAMA MD WINS AWARD

THE Managing Director, Engr. Ibrahim Abdulsalam has been honoured as the “Aviation Personality of the Year” at the 3rd Nigeria Transport and Logistics Awards and Lecture organized by Transport Day newspapers held recently at the Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Frank Kintum the editor of Transport Day newspapers, the organizers of the event, Engr. Abdulsalam was selected out of an array of other contenders because of his innovativeness, professionalism, exceptional managerial skills and rare leadership potential which has seen to the repositioning of NAMA towards enhanced productivity and efficiency.

Earlier in a lecture titled “Aviation Safety (and Security) in Nigeria: The way Forward,” Engr. Abdulsalam who was represented by the General Manager (Procurement), Engr. Muyiwa Adegorite, averred that for the safety and security of the airspace to be guaranteed, a gamut of strategies must be adopted to include training and retraining of core personnel, workforce motivation, human and technological capacity development among others.

He called for the concerted effort of all stakeholders to bring about a “safe, secure, operationally efficient, market-driven, customer-focused and dynamic industry.
The Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) also bagged an award as “Aviation Association of the year.”
