The Managing Director (MD) of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Ibrahim Abdulsalam has charged Air Traffic Controllers across the nation to show more commitment and dedication to duty as the agency makes effort to revolutionize the nation’s Air Traffic Management capacity.
Engr Abdulsalam who made the remarks during the 44th AGM/Conference of Nigeria Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) in Akure, Ondo State noted that recent investments in projects like the Automatic Dependent Surveillance / Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (ADS-C/CPDLC) and the Kano Safe Tower would make for more effective management of the nation’s airspace and in the overall interest of safety.
The MD who was represented at the occasion by the Director of Operations, Mr. Felix Uzoma-FyneBoy also expressed the agency’s commitment towards training and retraining of personnel, especially in the critical area of operations.
According to him, It therefore behoves Air Traffic Controllers to consider safety over and above every other thing, in the discharge of their duties.
