The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that Nigeria airspace is open to flights operations as it asked air travellers to disregard any notice of Travel Ban in Nigeria.

Director General of the authority, Capt. Muhtar Usman said the travel ban story is absolute falsehood, misleading and the handiwork of some mischief makers.

The rumour started when some unions distributed flyers all over allegedly declaring that there would be a shutdown of the airspace.

Some unions had wanted to embark on strike over federal government policy which stipulates that staff promotion will henceforth be subjected to written examination, a policy that was initiated last year.

The Director General therefore advised Nigerians and indeed all air travellers to disregard the ban rumour.
