The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is looking at collaborating with oil and gas major, Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL to facilitate the construction of ” the 70.75km Omadino – Okerenkoko – Escravos Road in Delta State.”

The proposed road project is essential for connecting Warri to Escravos (Ugborodo) a vital area for oil and gas activities.

The NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, in a statement emphasized the project’s importance in enhancing oil production and boosting economic activities in the region.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to stakeholder engagement and the implementation of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative to accelerate the road’s construction.

Ogbuku also referenced the successful collaboration between the NDDC and Shell Petroleum on the Ogbia-Nembe Road project, considering it a model for future partnerships.

He mentioned the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) to collaborate on sustainable development projects, reflecting a strategic approach to secure funding and support for both ongoing and new initiatives.
