New Police Commissioner, Mudassiru Assumes Duty In Kaduna

The new Commissioner of Police CP Abdullahi Mudassiru deployed to Kaduna State Command has assumed duty.

He resumed on Monday August 9, 2021.

Mudassiru, took over from the Immediate past Commissioner of Police who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Umar M Muri and subsequently posted to Zone 13 Ukpo – Dunukofia Awka in Anambra state.

The new Commissioner hails from Katsina LGA of Katsina state and a holder of Bachelor of science degree in Political science from the prestigious Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.

The vibrant young Mudassiru was enlisted into the Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) on 3rd March, 1990 and trained at Police College Kaduna.

From the completion of his training to the very moment of his deployment to Kaduna Command as the Commissioner of Police, he had served in several States Commands and Police formations in various capacities among which is the Officer in Charge of the defunct Anti-robbery Squad of Abia State Command.

He was equally at a time a Unit Commander in the Police Mobile Force, a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Tudun Wada Kaduna and several other Divisions across the country. At the strategic managerial cadre of the Force, he was Area Commander in wudil, Kano state; Ijebuode, Ogun state and Ahoda, Rivers state.

While as a Deputy Commissioner of Police, he served as DC DFA Zone 1 Kano, DC Operations Ogun state Command and until his promotion and posting to Kaduna State Command he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Special Enquiry Bureau, Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police has vast knowledge and experience in Police Operations, Investigation and Administration which he pledged to utilise in the administration of Kaduna state Command in order to subdue the various forms of criminality in the state. He has charged all Officers and men of the Command to be focused on their responsibility of maintaining law and order without jettisoning professionalism, since the task of keeping Kaduna crime free, just as that of his predecessor, remains paramount.

He solicited for the support of all stakeholders in the discharge of his responsibility, as he is not unmindful of the yearnings of the people of Kaduna state in terms of security; though multi-tasking, it is surmountable with a collective commitment.

His door is opened to all until success is achieved, he promised.
